Passing of a Dedicated Member: Honouring the Life of Brian Rolling

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Brian Rollings, a stalwart supporter of police sport and an honorary life member of the Police Sport UK (PSUK) Council. Mr. Rollings passed away on the 11th of August, 2024, at the age of 88.

Brian Rollings dedicated many years of his life to the promotion and administration of police sports. His service to the Police Athletic Association (PAA) began during the tenure of Sir John Evans, where he served as the Assistant Secretary. He later became the first Administration Manager of Police Sport UK under the chairmanship of Sir Anthony Burden. Throughout his tenure, Brian played a vital role in several subcommittees and sporting sections of the association, including the Judo and Soccer committees.

His passion for police sports was not limited to administration; he also contributed significantly to preserving the history of police sport by producing a comprehensive booklet that details its journey from 1928 onwards. This invaluable resource remains available online via the PSUK website.

Brian remained active within the PSUK council and various sections up until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, after which his involvement became more limited. His legacy, however, continues to resonate within the PSUK community.

Brian Rollings is survived by his beloved wife, Kay. A private cremation service has already taken place.

The PSUK community and TeamPolice extends its deepest condolences to Kay and all who knew and admired Brian. His contributions to police sport will never be forgotten, and his memory will be cherished by all.
