The United Kingdom Police Women’s Basketball team held their final USPE preparation event in Worcester on 19-21 April 2024.

The team played the RAF Women’s Basketball Team in a hard-fought game. Despite the UK having a 17-point lead at half time the RAF fought back to snatch a winning basket in the dying seconds of the match. This was good preparation for the team as they headed to their International event.

The team and management would like to thank players and their families and friends for financially contributing to help them purchase the official team tracksuits that will be required for the opening ceremony.  Thanks also to Sixth Woman Basketball for providing the team with t-shirts for the event.

Many of the players’ own Forces have also helped assist with the cost of flights to Greece and/or accommodation during the USPE Finals which is greatly appreciated and takes a lot of financial pressure off the team.

Lastly well done to the athletes and management in funding their path to the finals following the decision by PSUK to not fund the USPE events in 2024.

The importance of these fixtures for the athletes cannot be underestimated.  They take great pride in representing the United Kingdom on an International platform.
